PMU Pre/Post Care -
Avoid direct sun exposure.
You must stay out of the sun for at least 3 days post treatment and then use a high factor sunscreen in order to protect your skin.
Avoid using scrubs for 1 week.
Do not use any products on your face which contain exfoliating ingredients for at least 1 week to avoid irritating your skin any further.
Avoid any makeup application.
Do not wear any makeup for at least 24 hours post treatment. Also, you must avoid any other facial treatments for at least 2 weeks after your dermaplaning.
Follow a simple skincare routine after your treatment.
After your dermaplaning treatment, you need to follow a simple skincare routine for 2 weeks. Instead of using any harsh cleaning products, use a very mild cleanser to clean your face. Also, you should apply moisturizers as well as skin serums, especially those with hyaluronic acid, after the treatment.
You need to avoid using any products that contains aggressive ingredients such as Retinol or harsh acids.
Do not engage in any strenuous exercise.
You should avoid strenuous exercises for at least 24 hours post treatment. It is also important to avoid the use of steam rooms or saunas.
Avoid any contact with chlorine (swimming pools, Jacuzzi) for at least 3 days post treatment.
Please note your service provider may alter your aftercare depending on your treatment protocol. -
As part of your eyebrow lamination aftercare, it is crucial that you:
Avoid getting the brow area wet for 24 hours .
Avoid contact with direct sunlight, sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for the next 48 hours.
Avoiding excessive rubbing or touching of the treated area for 24 hours.
After 24 hours, you should apply the given aftercare oil 1x daily to promote the growth and health of your brow hair.
We also recommend that you follow these guidelines in the run up to and the days after your treatment:
Avoid using exfoliating (be it AHA, BHA or scrubs) and anti-ageing skincare around the brow area for three days either side of your treatment.
Avoid fake tanning products (including gradual tan) on the face for three days either side of your treatment, as it can discolour the eyebrow tint (unless you’re after khaki coloured brows).
Your stylist will apply some make up at the end of your treatment, however you should avoid applying any further heavy make up (foundations, etc) on the area around the brow for 24 hours.
When cleansing your brows, do so in the direction of the lamination, brush into place, and let air dry.
Once weekly, after cleansing in the shower, apply a thin layer of hair conditioner to the brows for 3 minutes and rinse. This will soften and condition the brow hair.

Please note: some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. These symptoms should subside over the next 24 - 48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact The Parlour.
Keep the waxed area clean and avoid heat and friction during the next 24 - 48 hours. This means:
No hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only).
No saunas, hot tubs, massage or steam treatments.
No tanning (sunbathing, sun beds or fake tans).
No sport, gym work or other exercise.
Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands.
Wear clean, loose-fitting clothes.
Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools.
Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotions or other products to the area, other than those recommended by your therapist.
To soothe and protect the skin, apply the given aftercare kit for 3 days following your treatment. Always wash your hands before applying any product. To prevent ingrown hairs: starting a few days after your appointment and then continuing a couple of times every week, exfoliate the areas you get waxed using a gentle exfoliant or exfoliating mit or poof.
Moisturize every day to keep the skin supple and help new hairs to grow through normally. Don’t exfoliate too much or too rough as this can graze the skin and cause ingrown hairs.
You may notice a small amount of re growth after a week or so. It can take up to 4 treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives best results.
You will need at least 3-4 weeks growth of hair before it can be successfully removed by waxing.
Please do not shave between your appointments.
To maintain your smooth appearance, we recommend regular waxing every 4-6 weeks.
